Lord’s Day Services

In keeping with United Reformed Church tradition, we hold two worship services each Lord’s Day.

Preaching Service

The first service begins at 10:00am in the main sanctuary and typically runs between an hour and an hour-and-a-half long. It features congregational prayer, the public confession of sin, and the singing of the Psalms and hymns of the faith. Prominence is given to the exegetical preaching of the Word of God, and the administration of the sacrament of the Lord’s Table, which is celebrated every Lord’s Day. Please see the section on the sacraments for our policy on participation in the Lord’s Table.

Catechism Service

The second service is a “catechetical” or teaching service, beginning usually around 11:30pm (approximately 20 minutes following the conclusion of the morning worship service). It features preaching on the creeds and confessions of the faith (the Heidelberg Catechism, the Canons of Dort, and the Belgic Confession). Adults meet in the main sanctuary and children meet in separate age-appropriate classes.

In addition to the regularly scheduled Sunday worship services, we from time-to-time hold special classes and forums on a wide variety of topics pertinent to the development of the Christian worldview. Please see the section on special events for upcoming functions and current class schedules.
